These days there are three kinds of conventional boilers when it comes to boiler replacement.
Regular boiler as shown below which uses the boiler to heat two independant sources of water from the attic. One for central heating and one to supply hot water.
Combiination often called Combi boiler which uses the water mains as it's source of water and provide both hot water and central heating from the same boiler and plumbing and is the most energy efficient of all boilers.
System boilers. In many respects this is very similar to a regular boiler but with a couple of major differences. With a system boiler many of the required central heating components built into the boiler itself, making it quicker and easier to install. Secondly, the hot water is pumped from the boiler through the system to the radiators and hot water cylinder, resulting in a fast response and more economical running costs in the boiler. The system boiler removes the need for a feed and expansion cistern.

Where we are called upon to changes a failed regular boiler and we are swapping like for like with a system boiler we charge £1,850 dependant on survey.
This does not mean that you must have a Bosch boiler to begin with but it must be a system boiler we are replacing and obviously the space and piping available must be of the required amounts
All Bosche central heating boilers are a minimum of 95% efficient which means that a full 95% of the heat from the flame in the boiler goes directly into the water. Whilst Combination boilers have an even higher energy eficiency since there is no necessity to store hot water in a tank in your airing cupboard. |
