Whilst it is definitely not our intention to make your problem seem greater than it truly is, more often than not if you have someone come and repair a leaking radiator, two things will likely be true. Firstly radiators almost always leak from the junction where the water pipe enters the radiator and for any plumber worth his salt it is easily remadied.
The second thing which you might not have expected is that shortly after you fix that leaking radiator another will begin to leak and then another.
The reason for this is simple once the logic of it falls into place. Radiators leak when the sealant which was used to join the pipe to the radiator starts to fail and since presumably all your radiators were installed at the same time the problem is not usually resolved by repairing the one leaking radiator.
But there is an upside to this !
You can save substantially by having individual thermostats fitted to each of your radiators and the savings will easily cover the cost of fitting them.
Your radiators are also all part of your central heating, so you may want to think about having the boiler serviced. After all one call out charge is better than two or more.
